Unlocking Politics

Unlocking Politics is a comprehensive, child-friendly course designed to help young people understand the systems, ideas, and decisions that shape their everyday lives. Thoughtfully structured and fully self-contained, it guides children step by step through the world of politics — from the basics of power and democracy to the big ideas that have shaped nations.

Across 12 engaging modules, children explore elections, Parliament, local government, political parties, and major ideologies such as conservatism, socialism, liberalism, ecologism, communism, and anarchism. They’ll also learn how political decisions affect everything from schools and hospitals to transport, the environment, and global events. As the introduction explains, “politics is all around you… responsible for the laws we have to abide by and the key questions about the kind of world you want to live in.”
